Individual Therapy
Choosing to pursue psychotherapy can be a scary and vulnerable experience. If you’re new to the psychotherapy process, you can expect it to feel challenging and effortful; however, the goal is for you to also feel more positive, well, and a sense of transformation and relief.
Individual therapy can be short-term and solution-focused, long-term and attachment-based, and/or it can be intermittent. Everyone’s needs are different, so everyone’s course of treatment can be different.
Couples Therapy
There are many reasons why couples choose to seek couples therapy. Some of these include help with improving communication or a specific issue, assistance with discussing challenging topics, and/or working through recent or long-standing resentment. Pursuing couples therapy does not necessarily mean your relationship is “in trouble;” a lot of times it can be an opportunity for relationship building and growth. Relationships are hard, and sometimes couples need help with navigating certain dynamics.
Family Therapy
Much like couples therapy, family therapy can be an opportunity for relationship building and growth. Within each family, there can be challenging dynamics between certain family members or within the larger family unit. Family therapy can be helpful to address struggles with co-parenting, sibling conflict, parent-child difficulties, and/or ineffective behaviors within the whole family. Often times families can get “stuck” in unhealthy dynamics, which requires some support with redefining more effective roles.
